- LaunchPad version 1.1.3 corrects a few problems with previous versions.
-
- Changes from 1.1.2:
-
- LaunchPad should now properly open documents in applications that
- are already running, whenever it is possible. (LaunchPad should be
- able to open such documents in all cases that the Finder can handle.
- If you find a situation where the Finder can open a document, but
- LaunchPad cannot, then you have probably found a bug. Please let
- me know about it.)
-
- LaunchPad should now bring an already running application to the
- foreground when it opens a document in that application.
-
- LaunchPad should now post an alert when a dropped document cannot
- be opened in an already running application. (On very rare occasion
- LaunchPad may post a false-alert, after a document has, in fact,
- been properly opened. If you see this behavior consistently, please
- let me know.)
-
- Changes from 1.1.0:
-
- LaunchPad should now properly terminate itself in the background.
-
- -------------------------------
-
- LaunchPad is a simple utility for System 7 drop-launching (drag-and-drop).
-
- It is the simplest solution that I could find for "Clean-Desktop-types" who
- want to have easy drag-and-drop access to several applications, but hate
- to clutter their desktops with all those icons. With LaunchPad, you place
- only the (small) LaunchPad icon on your Desktop. You may then drag
- documents onto the LaunchPad icon, whenever you want to drop-launch a
- document. LaunchPad will provide a standard "get file" dialog allowing
- you to select a target application from a list of applications that you
- customize.
-
- Just double-click on the LaunchPad icon for further instructions on
- configuring LaunchPad for your own use. (The bottom of the instruction
- window will probably be cut off for users of compact macs, but there's
- only a few notes there--nothing vital.)
-
- LaunchPad takes up about 10K of disk space, and requires 40K of RAM
- when running.
-
- LaunchPad is freeware, and will only run under System 7.
